The Council of Fashion Designers of America is launching a metaverse initiative in honor of its 60th anniversary. The fashion organization has worked with members on NFTs, some of which were revealed last week, leading up to the full unveiling of the commemorative NFTs “Lighting the Path of American Fashion” on December 12, 2022 followed by its debut Metaverse fashion exhibition, “Fashioning the Shades of American Design” on December 19, 2022. The collection spotlights seven fashion houses and designers including Coach, Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Vivienne Tam, Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera and Willy Chavarria; each of them come loaded with perks and benefits and bids start at $15,000 or $25,000.
Per the CFDA website, “The seven one-of-one NFTs will be available on CFDA.bnv.me from December 12-16 and feature iconic moments for auction with all proceeds benefiting the CFDA Foundation. Powered by Polygon Studios and brought to life by BNV, a fashion-focused and curated NFT platform for the tokenization, collection and trading of digital fashion assets, each NFT comes with unique utility perks that allow unprecedented access. The CFDA will also be partnering with MoonPay to utilize their white glove concierge service to facilitate the NFT purchases…”
The opening bid for Coach NFTs is $25,000 with perks including two tickets to a Coach holiday event hosted at Rockefeller Center; a tour of Coach archives and a Coach ReLoved® bag. The opening bid for Diane von Furstenberg is $25,000 and perks include a customised DVF wrap dress that mimics a dress from the simulation, invitation to the opening of the Exhibition for DVF in Brussels in April 2023, invitation to preview upcoming collections presented by Talita Von Furstenberg and a meet and greet with Diane von Furstenberg. The opening bid for Michael Kors is $25,000 and perks include front row seats for the NFT holder and a guest to attend one Michael Kors Collection fashion show with backstage meet and greet with Michael Kors at the fashion show.
The opening bid for Tommy Hilfiger NFT is $25,000 and perks include an all expenses paid trip to the next Tommy Hilfiger brand experience with a guest; custom-made replica of the NFT rugby signed by Tommy Hilfiger and a personalised shopping package of five hand-picked items by Tommy Hilfiger. Whoa! And, it just keeps getting better. The opening bid for Vivienne Tam is $15,000 and perks include one front row seat for holder and a guest to the next fashion show with an opportunity to go back stage, one date to meet Vivienne and share her philosophy of healthy lifestyle and the impact on design and culture, and one chance to join a design discussion and learn about an upcoming collection. The NFT by Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera has set its opening bid at $25,000. And, the NFT by Willy Chavarria has set its opening bid at $15,000. Perks a look selected by and styled by Willy, a 45 minute meeting with Willy <and his team if desired> virtually or in person depending on the availability to discuss any collaboration or business opportunities, and 2 tickets to 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards.
