Dsquared²

Canadian twins Dean and Dan Caten began their career in fashion design at Parsons School of Design, New York in 1984. Shortly, they debuted womenswear and leisure collections and were signed by fashion label Ports International as creative directors. In 1991 the duo moved to Milan and debuted a men’s collection in 1994 under the label, Dsquared². It immediately caught the attention of editors and buyers with its bold, playful, and edgy aesthetic.

Headquartered in Milan, Italy, Dsquared² is celebrated for its bold runway shows, provocative designs, and celebrity following. Over the years, the label has expanded beyond menswear and womenswear to include footwear, fashion accessories, and fragrances, all integrated with its rebellious spirit.

From its early days, Dsquared² has been synonymous with high-energy runway shows and collaborations with global icons. The brand gained widespread recognition when Madonna commissioned them to design her outfits for the 2001 Drowned World Tour. Since then, Dsquared² has dressed several celebrities, including Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Justin Timberlake. Their collections often feature bold graphics, distressed denim, and sharp tailoring, deftly combining streetwear influences with luxury craftsmanship.

Dsquared² embraces a philosophy of contrast—combining casual-wear with sophisticated detailing, rugged elements with polished elegance. The fashion brand’s slogan, “Born in Canada, Made in Italy,” reflects its unique DNA, as the brothers integrate their designs with Canadian heritage while leveraging the expertise of Italian artisans. Today, Dsquared² is a powerhouse in contemporary global fashion, pushing boundaries with its bold designs, unexpected collaborations, and theatrical runway presentations.
