Lanvin Group, a global luxury fashion group headquartered in Shanghai, and managing iconic brands such as Lanvin, Wolford, Sergio Rossi, St. John Knits and Caruso, recently announced that Italian footwear brand Sergio Rossi appoints Paul Andrew as Creative Director.

Eric Chan, CEO of Lanvin Group, said: “Lanvin Group is pleased to announce the addition of Paul Andrew to the Sergio Rossi team. With his creative design expertise and forward-thinking approach, Paul is set to lead Sergio Rossi into a new era of success. This new direction for the brand aligns seamlessly with our mission to uphold its rich heritage while catering to the evolving tastes of our clientele.”

Paul Andrew has an illustrious background in luxury fashion. On graduating from Berkshire College of Art and Design, he worked with Alexander McQueen before moving to New York in 1999 to join Narciso Rodriguez and, finally, launching his own label in 2013. The following year he became the first shoe designer and the youngest brand to win the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.

In 2016, Salvatore Ferragamo appointed Andrew as Design Director for women’s shoes, and a year later, Women’s Creative Director. Following the worldwide success of his collections, he was named Creative Director of all Ferragamo product categories in 2019 – the first person to assume this title since Salvatore Ferragamo helmed the luxury fashion brand. He left this position in May 2021, and the following year, relaunched his footwear brand in New York.

Paul Andrew, Creative Director of Sergio Rossi, said: “I am honoured and delighted to join Sergio Rossi as Creative Director, a world-renowned house of shoemaking whose roots and legacy speak to the lasting power of Italian savoir-faire. And I look forward to building upon Sergio’s own unique spirit of innovation and high craft as we propose a bright new vision for the brand today.”

Lanvin Group Posts Revenue of €171 million in H1 2024

Lanvin Group achieved revenue of €171 million, a 20 per cent decrease period-over-period as compared to 2023. Nonetheless, the Group continued to demonstrate operational stability and strong cost control through proactive strategic adjustments. “Struggles in the wholesale channel compounded the issues of a softening global luxury market, in the first half of 2024. We spent much of the first half committed to our marketing plan, but also prioritised rationalising our cost base to fit the current market environment”, said Eric Chan, CEO of Lanvin Group. “We are committed to our product strategy and investing in product development, which is why we are excited to have the new creative leaders who have joined our family. While we will be proactive in our approach to the near-term slowdown, we remain resolute in investing in our brands to forge our path forward, and to capitalise on our momentum as the markets improve.”
